All about me

Let’s get one thing straight: I am a mermaid who eats people.

I wish.

I was born in Los Angeles to Civil Rights lawyer parents, who, after one earthquake too many, packed up and headed for Chicago, where I was raised. My family history is baked in art and interesting stories—my great-grandfather, Ed Fox, was the Jewish immigrant founder and owner of The Grand Terrace nightclub, the biggest, baddest Chicago jazz club of the prohibition era, until he was murdered on the orders of Al Capone (YES, I am writing the script, DAD).

I came back out to Los Angeles for college (Loyola Marymount 17’) and have stuck around since, working in theatre before fully pivoting to film in 2020.

As a writer/director, I am most interested in stories of folklore. Gods, monsters, and the people in between.

My vampire short film that I wrote, directed, and starred in, SANGUISUGA, is currently making its way onto the festival circuit, having just placed as a semi-finalist in Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival. I am currently writing a feature based on that short, NIGHT OWL. I am in pre-production on my short film currently titled DYBBUKIM, based on Jewish folklore, and another short I plan on acting in as well, PERSEPHONE REDUX. I’m also available to collaborate! Most recently I was brought on the team as Director for surreal dark comedy short, AT HOME WITH KEVIN. If you’re interested in working with me, check out the “contact” page.
